oh this is the funiest thing i have read in ages LMFAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!
WRONG.. WRONG.. ANET does care about the customer. If you had a business and you didn't care about your customers, then you'd have no business... doh! And noone absolutely noone cares about you posting about not caring about "that" guy "nearly getting scammed". And no, I repeat NO!, the GW trade method is NOT 100%, secure im guessing you are saying. Someone please refer this guy to the thread where people were scamming the ectos for some other item, yet the trade window showed that there "were" ectos being traded. This is a reason why the trade window has been modified from it's original version and will get revised in the future from other occurrences. Knowledge is power buddy.

Yes, you're right, we should pay attention. But if you realize, we have people playing this game who's ages range from 13-99(i may be off a little lol)
even some who are under the age of 13. They may not be as sharp to notice the scam, especially if they are a newer player to this or any game. Not everyone is as "smart" and all knowing as you!

Yeah, ANET has better things to do like make sure there ice cream doesn't melt before there big tea party begins. Why waste time banning scammers?

@OP - ignore the trolls who seem to be unfamiliar both with the rules of GW and those of guru.

Report every violation you see or experience. Take screenshots and type an organized complaint. ArenaNet does not consider ignorance of the rules a valid defense. As I stated previously, you will make a difference over time.

When someone starts getting banned for bad behavior, he/she will tell their friends who will then realize that it could happen to them. If no one reports violations, then nothing will ever change.

Dunno about scamming but the couple of people I've reported for either trying to buy/sell Runescape accounts or sell gold have mysteriously not been on for a very long time...

I'd say it's definitely worth reporting

If I sell someone a green for 1k and then find out it was worth 15k, or complete a sale like the OP's, and report that I was scammed - that's when I would get the "in-game agreement" answer.

ANet can do nothing about a completed trade which is what most trade scam reporters expect. They will not compensate for poor judgment on your part. But that has nothing to do with reports (with screenshots) of attempted scams, whether trade, running, or key sales.

One more time - If an account accummulates enough small complaints, ANet will start punishing that account with bans that increase in length.

If a report of key sale/buy offer is validated by ANet, the account will be permanently blocked.
